The One and All is more than a ship. She is South Australia’s sailing icon – a living symbol of our maritime heritage, our connection to the sea, and our commitment to shaping young lives through experience, challenge, and teamwork. At the heart of this mission are our volunteers. Without them, One and All does not sail.
From her very beginning, One and All was built through the passion and dedication of volunteers. That spirit continues today. Volunteers provide the time, skills, and commitment that enable the ship to operate life changing experiences, delivering youth development programs and community engagement opportunities across South Australia. Every voyage, school visit, and open day is made possible because volunteers choose to give their time freely to support something bigger than themselves.
One and All is a state icon, she represents living maritime history. On board, traditional seamanship skills are not just displayed – they are actively practised and passed on. Volunteers play a vital role in preserving and sharing these traditions, ensuring the knowledge of tall ship sailing, maintenance, and teamwork remains alive for future generations.
Volunteering with One and All is as diverse as the people who step aboard. Volunteers can contribute as sailing crew, maintenance and refit team members, ship attendants for schools and open days, event and community engagement supporters, or through fundraising, promotion, and publications. Every role directly supports the ship’s ability to deliver meaningful youth development experiences.
The impact is real: young people discovering confidence, communities reconnecting with maritime heritage, and a living tall ship continuing to sail. Our volunteers don’t just support One and All – they are One and All.
